CAD/AVL Implementation Support
RFP 2012.02

Notice is hereby given that the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) is seeking proposals for an individual or a transportation consulting firm to provide technical and project management assistance associated with the implementation of TANK’s recently-procured Transit Real-time Automated Communications System (TRACS).  The TRACS will use Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technologies to better manage TANK’s fixed-route and demand response revenue and non-revenue vehicle operations.  The role of the contractor will be to provide technical assistance and managerial support to the TANK Project Management Team during the TRACS implementation. All proposals must be submitted in accordance with requirements set forth in the RFP and must be received in the office of Andrew Aiello, General Manager at or before 2:00 PM on Friday, February 24, 2012.  Additional information can be found in the links below

PROGRAM OF PROJECTS

The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) has whither submitted or is planning to submit applications to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Transportation Cabinet of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for capital grants in the amount of $5,849,302 under 48 U.S.C. Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Grant and Section 5316 Job Access / Reverse Commute Programs established under the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). The projects described in these applications are contained in the 2012 Transportation Improvement Program.

The purpose of this publication is to solicit public comment on the Program of Projects (POP). Copies of the POP and the grant applications are available for inspection at TANK’s administrative offices at 3375 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017 during normal working hours. Comments can be communicated by phone to the Manager of Planning at 859-814-2148 or in writing to the above address.

Anyone desiring a public hearing on the proposed POP should, prior to 5:00pm, December 1, 2011, submit a written request to the Manager of Planning at the above address and a public meeting will be scheduled.
