Temporary Schedule Changes Begin April 3rd
Reminder to riders, our temporary schedule change begins April 3rd. The front of the new physical schedules say April 10th, but it has been pushed forward to the 3rd. Printed schedules are now available at the TANK Office, CTC, and Sales Office. You can also visit www.tankbus.org/alerts/alert for digital copies of each schedule as well.
Beginning April 3rd, TANK will be reducing service frequencies on local routes and adjusting the level of service to better match the number of operators available to work. Reducing service frequencies is not ideal, but this should result in more consistent and reliable service to our customers on all routes.
Effective April 3rd, the following routes will have new schedules, with reduced weekday frequencies. (Weekend schedules have not changed). The span of service (time of first bus/last bus) will remain unchanged. Updated schedules with full details will be added to the TANK website in the next week.
Route 1 – Dixie Highway/Florence (30 minute all day/60 minute late night)
Route 3 – Ludlow/Bromley (60 minute all day)
Route 5—Holman Ave/Ft. Wright (60 minute all day)
Route 7 – Madison Ave/Latonia (60 minute all day)
Route 8 – Eastern Ave/Crestview Hills (60 minute all day)
Route 12—Bellevue/Dayton (60 minute all day)
Route 16 – West Newport/Ft. Thomas (60 minute all day)
Route 25 – NKU/Alexandria (30 minute all day/60 minute late night)
These new schedules will be temporary – once we are able to increase operator numbers through aggressive hiring and training, we will return to full-service frequencies.

- Practice social distancing by providing as much space between you, other passengers and TANK employees
- Be fare-ready: if using cash fare have it ready and insert it into the fare box quickly then proceed to a seat.

Most TANK Routes Will Return to Full Service on June 20
Starting Saturday, June 20th most TANK Local and Express routes will return to full service.
Not included in the return to service plan at this time are the Southbank Shuttle and the 35X East-West Express. These routes will resume service at a later date, still to be determined.
“We’re seeing increased demand on most routes and know that people are slowly getting back to work. It’s the right time to begin the climb back to normal weekday service levels…our customers are asking for their bus,” stated Andrew Aiello, TANK General Manager. “Operator turnover, combined with being unable to hire, test, license and train new bus operators over the last few months (due to the pandemic) leaves us with fewer employees than are required to return to full service levels. Until we can return to full employment, the Southbank Shuttle and 35X (serving NKU) will not have service.”
These routes (Southbank Shuttle and 35X) are seeing less demand for service, due to the route purpose. The Southbank Shuttle primarily serves riverfront hotels, attractions and stadiums with very limited current use and the 35X serves NKU which is currently operating online.
All rides will continue to be fare free in order to continue to allow for passengers to board through rear doors and minimize interaction with the bus operator. Anyone with a mobility device that requires use of the wheelchair ramp will be able to board through the front door.
COVID-19 Reminders:
Passengers are being asked to:
· stay home if you’re sick
· wear a face covering if able
· make use of all opportunities to spread out on the bus while on board
· be respectful of the other passengers and maintain distance
· wash your hands before and after using the bus
Newport Shopping Center Park and Ride Closed New Location at St. Therese School

Additionally, routes #25 and #16 will discontinue direct service through the Shopping Center parking lot, and will stay on Monmouth and Carothers respectively.
- For our park and ride passengers, St. Therese School (2516 Alexandria Pike, Southgate, KY) has graciously allowed TANK passengers to utilize their parking lot on a temporary basis, until the school reopens in the fall. Please see the attached map detailing where to park, and how to access the inbound and outbound bus stops. We hope to find a more permanent option during that time.
- For shopping center patrons utilizing routes 16 (IB) or 25 (IB and OB), please use the stops on Monmouth at Carothers. A new outbound 16 stop will be placed on Carothers at the Walgreens entrance.
