Fare Payment and Front Door Boarding to Return on August 10
Beginning Monday, Aug. 10, TANK will resume fare collection and front door boarding on all trips. TANK buses are now outfitted with plexiglass shields to help protect drivers and customers.
The fastest and safest way to pay your fare is with the TANK Transit app. Cash fare and pre-paid passes are also still accepted.
Customers can purchase fare by downloading Transit app on your mobile device or have your cash fare ready when boarding any TANK bus using exact change.
Know before you go
To make your trip safer please follow these guidelines:
- Mask required. Face coverings are now required to ride TANK.
- Practice social distancing by providing as much space between you, other passengers and TANK employees

TANK to hold Public Meeting on Redesign of Bus System
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: August 20, 2019
TANK to hold Public Meeting on Redesign of Bus System
The public is invited to comment and provide input on proposed redesign of the transit system. The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) is undertaking a System Redesign Study to help re-imagine the agency’s current bus route network structure. TANK invites the public to attend a Public Meeting at the Covington Career Center (1324 Madison Avenue, Covington) on August 29 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The venue is located on TANK Route #7.
The purpose of the meeting is to gather input on the proposed redesign of the bus system and to hear comments about current service and future needs. The meeting will be open house style with a brief presentation given at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
TANK staff and their consultant team will present a brief presentation to explain the redesign process and goals of the study. Outside of the presentation times, participants will be able to view, at their leisure, exhibit boards and bus network maps at several stations. Staff and consultants will be available to discuss the study and answer questions. Comments and desired outcomes will be captured via a brief survey and comment cards at each station.
The input received from the meeting will be used to assist the consultant team in identifying, prioritizing, and developing a re imagined bus transit system that will serve the needs of the Northern Kentucky community, providing more efficient and cost effective service that is supported by robust ridership. TANK’s goal is to provide community-supported transit to customers with varying needs and to support the continued job growth in the region. Collectively and with public input, TANK wants to ensure safe, convenient, and accessible public transportation for the areas residents, workers, and visitors that want and need to use it.
A second public meeting will be held later this year to present the draft Redesign Study plan and obtain comments.

SAVE THE DATE: NATIONAL GET ON BOARD DAY TO BE HELD ON APRIL 25
