Reimagining Transit
TANK Service Changes Final Plan
Thank you for your interest. Based on public input received in the fall of 2025 and our evaluation of our network and services, we’ve developed the final preferred alternative for TANK’s future network. The plan was presented, followed by a Q&A session, at a virtual public open house meeting on Wednesday, January 28. Hear the recorded presentation.

TANK Transit Development Plan: Reimagining the Future of Transit in Northern Kentucky
For more than 50 years, TANK has been connecting our Northern Kentucky community to jobs, schools, medical appointments, shopping, entertainment and each other. We take this responsibility very seriously and are committed to providing exceptional service in the urban, suburban and rural areas across the three counties where we operate.
However, over the last several years, TANK has faced funding challenges and reduced ridership, like many transit agencies in the US. To combat these challenges, TANK is embarking on a Transit Development Plan, “Reimagining the Future of Transit in Northern Kentucky,” to guide us into a fiscally secure future over the next 10-15 years. Through this exciting initiative, we can meet the transportation needs of Northern Kentucky residents and businesses within our existing funding.

Starting in the summer of 2025, we collaborated with a committee of stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of community expectations for transit in Northern Kentucky. We evaluated our existing network and services, particularly ridership over the last couple of years. We asked our riders and the general public for input on a proposed new, bold and innovative approach to transit in Northern Kentucky, prioritizing continued superior services that meet the diverse needs of the community.
Based on the above input received and our evaluation of our network and services, we’ve developed the final preferred alternative for TANK’s future network. The plan was presented, followed by a Q&A session, at a virtual public open house meeting on Wednesday, January 28. Hear the recorded presentation.
The TANK Board of Directors will hear and vote on the recommended plan in February. The soonest any changes would be implemented is July 2026, and any final route changes will be communicated to the public in advance.
